Tucked in a Pudu back lane, Ruby has ground black sesame into silky chi ma wu since the 19th century, now in its fourth generation under 'King of Chi Ma Wu' Ricky Kan. The sesame and peanut pastes are stone-milled and slow-cooked daily, thick enough to coat the spoon.
